How are CAREGivers selected? +

Each and every CAREGivers who works for Home Instead goes through a demanding training process, which then enables them to provide exceptional home care and home support services that meet the needs of seniors and enhance their quality of life. How do you train your CAREGivers? +

Home Instead CAREGivers participate in an exclusive senior care training program, which covers topics such as communicating with seniors, planning activities, recognizing illnesses, safety training and other issues and typical situations encountered in providing elder care. CAREGivers also benefit from regular team meetings and on-going training opportunities to enhance their skills.

What happens if my CAREGiver gets sick? +

Home Instead fosters a CAREGiver team approach. In the event a CAREGivers is ill, we will make the necessary arrangement for a replacement to honor the scheduled visit in order to meet your home care needs. We will of course advise you in advance.

How is my CAREGivers paid? +

Your CAREGiver is employed by the local Montreal Home Instead office, which is an independently owned and operated franchise. Home Instead handles all the billing, payroll, taxes, insurance and administrative responsibilities of your CAREGiver.

Is Home Instead a house cleaning service? +

No. We offer home support services which include some light housekeeping helping the elderly stay in their own homes.

How much do Home Instead services cost? +

Our services are available at an hourly rate. The rate will depend on the type of service that best suits your needs. Please contact us for further information.

Are Home Instead services eligible for tax credits? +

Yes. Seniors aged 70 and older are eligible for financial aid in the form of a refundable tax credit for home care service expenses connected with their home support services. Please contact us for further information.

Do I have to sign a fixed-term contract? +

No. Our services are available with no short-term or long-term contracts to sign. If your need for Home Care Services ceases, notifying us in advance will allow us to make arrangements to end your Home Care Services. If you require home care services again in the future, it will be our pleasure to resume services.

What happens if my mom’s condition requires more help than initially expected? +

As your mother’s condition evolves, we will ensure that her service plan is adjusted to ensure she receives tailored care.

My dad gets up in the middle of the night and needs to be watched. +

Our caregivers provide Companionship, Home Care and Personal Care services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Our priority is to tailor each service plan to each client’s specific needs. Please contact us for further information.
